The CPEL programmes support the learning and development for social workers at all stages of their post-qualification professional progress. Participants will become highly skilled, reflective practitioners, and there is a relentless focus on improving the outcomes of social work interventions. CPEL will increase professional confidence by focussing on practice analysis, reflection and growth.
The programmes also provide the opportunity for social workers to establish particular areas of specialism so that over time Wales can develop communities of practice in which these specialisms can be recognised.
Cardiff, Bangor, Glyndŵr and Swansea Universities have come together to deliver the post-consolidation phase CPEL programmes, namely:
The four Universities (also known as the ‘CPEL Alliance’) combine their strengths in the delivery of accessible, creative and stimulating practice-based programmes. Students will receive their qualifications from the School of Social Sciences at Cardiff University.
